I like Windows 7 enough that I wouldn't mind updating my HTPC's Window's XP ...but I'm worried about any HDMI issues that may come up. I heard Window's 7 has more restrictions. I use my HTPC as a blu-ray player so any issues with HDMI including 7.1 master audio would be a deal breaker for me. The newer drivers have a &quot;feature&quot; to help with overscan issues that was causing HDCP syncing issues. Usually turning on/off the receiver will fix the problem, but I shouldn't have to do that extra step. I then tried to uplug everything and it dodn't work. What did work (at least so far) is switch the DVI inputs on my video card. Everything was working fine for a couple days with bitstreaming working and DTS-HD MA showing up on my receiver. However, now I just get a black screen when my HTPC starts up. I’m guessing it some BS HDCP handshacking issue with my HTPC and the receiver, but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions. I have a Denon 3808 receiver and a Win XP HTPC with a Nvidea 8800 GTS video card.</p> <p>The black screen starts after the Win XP opening logo. I have a DLP which is about 3 years old now, and I had trouble at first connecting it to my HTPC. There were big overscan issues and the drivers for the video card were misbehaving. Eventually I got it to work using the component connection and setting up the video card settings to a resolution of 1152 x 648 pixels. I wasn’t getting full 720p resolution, but it worked so I was happy.<br /> The video card drivers now come with HDTV settings so I set it up to 720p and have no issues. I have PowerDVD right now. The best I can say is thats it OK. There's been times when Blu-rays didn't play which annoyed me enough to get a PS3. I got Total Media Theater trial version and it played everyone of my movies.
